The Optimization Division is a combination of two well-established private service companies with over 43 years of combined experience in the industry. MGM Well Service, based out of Corpus Christi, was acquired by IPS in January 2005. MGM brought their innovative approaches to Swabbing Operations and revolutionary, patented Pacemaker Plungers to the Optimization Division. The division saw a surge in growth at that time and continued to build a strong brand image for IPS as a whole, which combined Optimization Services to the already extensive company offering. In mid-2006, IPS acquired another plunger lift manufacturing and service company in SMI. SMI had a strong presence in the market with their own brand of plunger lift controls and patented algorithms. SMI also owned U.S. Plungers which was a long-standing line of solid conventional plungers with over 14 years in the market. SMI had enjoyed huge success with their growth through their combined product line that included the patented “Ultra-Seal” pad plunger. With the combination of these two companies, IPS Optimization had set the stage to truly offer clients an integrated enhancement approach to their wells.
